Introduction and Behaviour Change
BASCD is pleased to announce the date and time of our first Masterclass on the dissemination of Delivering Better Oral Health (version 4). The event will be held virtually on the evening of July the 20th 2023, 18:30 – 20:00 (BST).
The session will include an introduction to the DBOH Toolkit provided by Dr Jenny Godson MBE, who led the work to deliver version 4 of DBOH. Prior to her retirement she was National Lead for Child Oral Health Improvement, PHE.
This will be followed by an overview of Behaviour Change related to DBOH given by Kara Gray-Burrows, Lecturer in Behavioural Sciences & Complex Intervention Methodology, School of Dentistry, University of Leeds, UK
Session aim and objectives:
Aim: To update members and facilitate discussion around applying DBOH in a dental public health context.
Objectives learners will gain:
First hand insight into the process of producing DBOHv4, from initial policy planning and agenda setting, through to document production, quality assurance and dissemination by the project lead.
An understanding of the key elements of behaviour change theory and practice underpinning DBOH, as well as some insights as to how we can impact behaviour on a population-based level.
