1-hour online workshop Wednesday 4th of August 2021

Are you working on oral health improvement?

Are you interested in how water fluoridation could improve oral health?

What do you think would be a meaningful improvement in oral health due to water fluoridation – how many fewer fillings or extractions?

The University of Manchester are running an NIHR-funded research study on the effects of water fluoridation in adults and adolescents:

“How effective and cost-effective is water fluoridation for adults? A 10-year retrospective cohort study”

We are seeking participants for a 1 hour online workshop which will inform how we interpret the results of our study.

**A 1 hour CPD certificate will be provided to all attendees (GDC verifiable)**

Date: Wednesday 4th of August 2021

Time: 2.00-3.00pm

Aim of Workshop

To review the current evidence base for water fluoridation and contribute towards ongoing research

Objectives

1. To review the current evidence base for water fluoridation

2. To understand why we still need research on water fluoridation

2. To learn about the design of a contemporary research study

3. To consider what would be a ‘meaningful reduction’ in the number of invasive dental treatments received as a result of water fluoridation?

Your participation in this work is highly valued and will contribute to final results of this nationally important study on water fluoridation.

We are looking for a range of key professional stakeholders to take part. This will include: dentists, oral health promotion teams, commissioners of local authority / NHS services, public health staff, and members of Health and Wellbeing Boards. The only requirements are the ability to use the ZOOM online videoconference platform, and to be able to complete an online survey during the workshop.

If you are able to attend the workshop, please:
