Time to Explore Collaboration, 11th – 12th April 2024

BASCD is delighted to announce that the 2024 spring scientific meeting is scheduled to take place on the 11th -12th April at the University of Greenwich,  hosted by our current President Elect Dr Charlotte Jeavons.

The University has three campuses and the main one at the Old Royal Naval College will be the location for BASCD 2024. This campus is the centre piece of Maritime Greenwich, a World Heritage Site, which has been described by UNESCO as being of ‘outstanding universal value’.  The site was originally the location of the Palace of Placentia where both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I were born, but this was demolished after the English Civil War and replaced by the buildings BASCD will be using for the conference.

Greenwich as a place is notable for its maritime history and if you take a look around you can find the Greenwich Meridian line (00 longitude) in the pavement by the famous tea clipper ship, the ‘Cutty Sark’ and, you can set your watch by Greenwich Mean Time at the Royal Observatory.

“Following the tradition of exploration emanating from our location at Greenwich the programme for this event has been planned around the theme of exploring collaboration. Our speakers have generously agreed to share their knowledge and expertise on collaboration to improve oral health. I hope their experience of the ups and downs of collaboration enable us all to explore this subject from different angles as part of the plenary sessions and to discover new knowledge. The sense of exploration into the unknown can also be seen via the poster competitions, where much of the work outlined is generating new evidence to in the field of dental public health.”

We look forward to welcoming you to Greenwich for an interesting and informative meeting.

Please do submit an abstract, so that we can continue to grow the superb association that is BASCD and its members.
