We feel that the paper evaluating the Screening for Oral Cancer against NSC Criteria presents a good summary of the available evidence in this field and would strongly support the view of the NSC that screening for oral cancer should not be advocated at present for whole populations.  However a targeted “case finding” approach for high-risk groups may be more appropriate.
